The Art of Surrealsim

Surrealism originated in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Officially consecrated in Paris in 1924. Surrealism began as a literary movement before becoming an artistic one. This movement was started by a French man named Andre Breton. Breton along with French poets Louis Aragon, Paul Eluard, and Philippe Soupault  along with Sigmund Freud helped create surrealism. Their poetry then created unexpected imagery. The organized surrealist movement dissolved pretty much on WWII. Key artist of the movement include Louis Aragon, Antonin Artaud, Rene Crevel, Robert Desnos, Paul Eluard, Michel Leiris, Benjamin Peret, and eventually the Dadaist Tristan Tzara.

Error is certainty's constant companion. Error is the corollary of evidence. And anything said about truth may equally well be said about error: the delusion will be no greater. - Louis Aragon

Louis Aragon was born in Paris. Aragon graduate highschool in 1916 and through Surrealsit poet Andre Breton, Aragon was introduced to Dadaism and Surrealism. In 1919 Breton, Philiphee and Aragon founded the review "Litterature". Aragon wrote a number of nonfictional studies, monographs, translations, and books on history, politics, art, and culture. He published more than 100 books in his lifetime. Aragon wanted to success and his legacy still lives on today thats why I feel like Aragon was such a great poet. Surrealism is very unique and isn't normal art but I like it.
